We’ve had a brilliant few weeks. Festivals, markets, car boot sales — our sellers have been everywhere this summer, and we’ve been right there with them. Not just watching from behind a dashboard, but out in the field, talking to the people using Eventifood in real conditions: the heat, the crowds, the unpredictable British weather, and all.

What we’ve seen has been genuinely exciting. Queues evaporating. Customers ordering from the comfort of their chair on the grass and only walking to the hatch when their food is ready. Sellers looking at their kitchen screen with that particular expression — the one that says this actually works, doesn’t it.

It does. And it’s only going to get better.

The momentum is real

When we launched Eventifood, we were honest with ourselves: we were building something that would take time to prove. Food truck owners are practical people. They don’t switch up their operation on a pitch deck. They need to see it work, or hear it from someone whose van they respect.

That word of mouth has started. Not in a way that breaks servers — we’re not claiming to have gone viral — but in the way that actually matters: sellers are recommending us to other sellers. “You should try Eventifood” is being said at festival gates and in trading estate car parks, and every time it is, the community gets a little thicker.

If this trajectory holds, we think we’re building something genuinely communal — a network of food trucks that, together, become more powerful than any one of them could be alone.

Why the community matters so much

There’s a category of features we’ve designed that only get better as the seller base grows. Finding a food truck near you is one of them — the more sellers we have on the platform, the more genuinely useful the map becomes for customers, and the more customer traffic flows back to our sellers.

The same is true for community insights: what’s selling this season, which events are worth attending, how other vans handle the festival-to-market rotation. These features don’t make sense when you’re serving twenty vans. They become transformative when you’re serving two thousand. That’s the curve we’re at the bottom of — and we’re very glad to be here early.

What’s coming

We’re working on a few things we’re particularly excited about — and these are exactly the kind of features that get better the bigger our community grows:

  • Find a Food Truck map — a public page where customers near you can discover your van. Every new seller makes the map better for every seller already on it.
  • PAYG with Stripe Connect — 2% per order, nothing when you’re not trading. No monthly subscription, no fee when the van is parked for winter.
  • SMS order notifications — let customers know their order is ready by text as well as email. Buy a credit pack, pay per message, or bring your own provider.
  • Staff accounts — add your crew without giving them owner access.
  • SumUp integration — for sellers using SumUp card readers.
  • Apple Pay & Google Pay — coming via Stripe.

The Find a Food Truck map is the one we’re most excited about sharing — a public page where customers near you can discover your van. The more sellers on Eventifood, the more useful it becomes for everyone. Every new van makes the map better for every van already on it.

If you’ve been with us through a festival season already — thank you. You’re the reason this is working.
